Day Three

  January 3rd

"Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the LORD of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” Matthew 11:37-38 NIV

God is in charge of your life.  You say this and you want to feel this.  You have stopped being the captain of your own sinking ship and you have joined Him.  Now you are trying to let Him lead the way.  All His asks is that you work for Him. You will enjoy the comforts of being on His ship, with tasks throughout the day.  You can relax and leave the navigation to Him.

What to do now?  Speak to Him daily as He speaks to you.  Do the things He asks.  Speak to others using His words.  Do what He desires you to do. That is all.

It will become harder to look out over the glistening waters.  You didn’t realize just how many people around you are in their own makeshift rafts, sailing aimlessly and precariously through the waters.  Many of these people you love dearly.

You will develop a longing in your heart to call out to them.  The Captain will give you the words.  Through you He will seek them and meet them, sending you out with provisions and a way to help them join you in this peace and security.

This is the heart of evangelism.

Pray for grace to do His will today, in all things, words, actions, and travels.  Ask Him to give you a heart of a worker.
